If there was a formula you could use to determine the difference between True Love and infamous Lust or Infatuation, would you like to know what it was?

Have you ever thought you were in Love with someone only to discover later that your own heart deceived you?

Try this Love Test and consider the results.

First, we must have a working definition of Love. And where can we find Love in the purest form? What can we trust as the basis of the purest definition of Love? You may disagree, but I have found that the bible (God’s Word) contains no lies, therefore, let’s use the bible’s definition of Love.

I John 4:16 states that God is love. A simple, usable definition. Let’s go with that. If God is love (and He is), then in any situation we use the word Love, could we not exchange the word God for the word Love?

Be prepared, you may need to search the scriptures for the attributes of this True Love. There are way to many and if put into book form, “I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written.” (John 21:25)

So, try this out. Send us a note and let us know. Here are some examples I have found to be very beneficial to me…

Parents who indulge and spoil their children and say “I God you”….
- doesn’t work there, God doesn’t indulge my sinful behavior.

Men who abuse their wives and families perhaps emotionally or even physically and then say “I God you”…
- doesn’t work there, God doesn’t abuse His children.

Friends who end their conversations with people they hardly know with “I God you” but don’t take another thought of the person after they part…
- doesn’t work there, God is ever mindful of His children caring deeply for us.

A single mother who works two jobs to provide for her children tells them “I God you”…
- does work here, God is self sacrificing for His children.

A elderly couple who have gone through 50 years of living with each other says to each other “I God you”…
- does work here, God never changes and never leaves His children.

Parents who impose limits and discipline in their home to their children’s utter disgust at times says “I God you”…
- does work here, God chastens His children in order to better them.
